1. Why We Created the ALAO Training Level System
Bobcat operates two major businesses: Compact Equipment and Material Handling (MH).
For both businesses, we provide:
Product knowledge training for sales
Technical training for service
However, every dealer and technician has a different background, experience, and skill level.
That is why Bobcat created a training level system that:
covers both basic and advanced knowledge,
divides courses by business and job field,
and allows everyone to choose the right course based on their level.
In other words, the ALAO Training Level System helps each learner find the right course at the right time.
2. How the Level System Works
The level system is different for Product and Service training.
Product Training
Product training is divided into:
Bronze → Silver → Gold

Each product group has its own learning path under the Compact and MH businesses.
Example for Compact Product learning path
For example,
if you want to become a Loader expert, you can take the Bronze, Silver, and Gold courses in the Loader learning path.

Example for MH Product learning path
MH training follows a similar structure.
However, Bronze is common for all groups, and from Silver onward, learners take the courses for each product group, such as Class 1 to Class 5.

Service Training
Service training has a different structure.
It follows:
Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum

Unlike the product training, Service Bronze, Silver and Gold are common for all service learners.
Because the basic knowledge needed for service — such as hydraulics, engines, and electrical systems — is the same across product groups.
That is why service training is designed like this:
Bronze: basic knowledge
Silver: deeper understanding
Gold: advanced topics such as circuit analysis
After completing these levels, learners can move on to Platinum, which provides product-specific service content.
Example for Compact Service learning path

Example for MH Service learning path

So, service training builds strong fundamentals first, then adds specialized product knowledge.
3. How to Utilize the level System
If you are just starting your Bobcat journey
If you are new to Bobcat sales or service, we recommend taking the courses in order:
Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum
At first, this may seem like a long path, but starting with the basics will make your learning much easier later on.
If you have more than 5 years of experience
If you have more than 5 years of experience in Bobcat sales or service,
you may skip Bronze and Silver, since they are beginner-level courses.
However, we strongly recommend not skipping Gold.
If you find something difficult in Gold, it is always a good idea to go back to Bronze and learn step by step again — even if you are already very experienced.
Why? Because field knowledge and theoretical knowledge can be different.
A strong theoretical foundation will make your field experience even more powerful.
For service technicians
If you are a service technician with more than 5 years of experience in Bobcat,
please move on to the Platinum course for the product you handle.
Platinum is designed to support dealers with product-specific service knowledge.
But please remember: offline Hands-on Training is always the most important.
Hands-on training gives you real experience that online learning cannot fully replace.
The ALAO Training Level System is designed to help dealers find the right training more easily and learn more effectively.
Whether you want to build strong basics, improve your knowledge, or become more specialized,
there is a learning path for you.
If you have not tried these courses yet, now is a great time to start!
You may be surprised by how useful they are in your daily work.
We look forward to seeing more of you in our training programs!🎓
